چکیده

Over recent years the electronics manufacturing industry has seen a shift away from wave soldering towards reflow soldering [1]. However, although wave soldering is indeed mature (first used during the 1950’s [eg 2]), there is still significant activity with novel process development to match [3]. This paper concerns a new type of noclean liquid flux for wave soldering that is based on water [4]. It provides background, including the environmental driving force and why this applies especially to wave soldering, and details the technological challenges, and how they were addressed during the development of Multicore’s “Ecosol” range of water based liquid fluxes.

Investigation of Physical Effects on Nanoparticle Size in Aerosol Solvent Extraction System

Aerosol solvent extraction system (ASES) was used to prepare micro-particle of acetaminophen by supercritical carbon dioxide as an anti-solvent. Experiment was carried out at various temperatures, pressures, solvents and investigated the effects of these parameters on particle size, size distribution and morphology by SEM and laser diffraction particle size analyzer. It seems that the choice of...

One-Pot Reduction of Aromatic Carboxylic Acid to Alcohol by SiO2@FeSO4 Nano Composite at Solvent-free Condition

Application of SiO2@FeSO4 nanocomposite as a new nanocatalyst in reduction area was investigated. Carboxylic acid simple and convenient reduction to alcohol by 0.75 mol of the nanocomposite, 3 mol sodium borohydride (NaBH4) as reduction reagent under a solvent-free condition at 30-65 min. The reaction happens in two stages - first to form an aldehyde and the...

Role of Hydrogen Transfer and Ionic Bonding on RR, SS and RS Medetomidine Conglomerates/Acids Stability: A Theoretical Study

This study focuses on RR, SS and RS medetomidine (MM) and inclusion of several achiral acids to distinguish which acid can help conglomerate formation instead of crystallizating racemic mixtures by defining the low-lying energy of their structures. Favorable orientation of acids was determined in interaction with the MM enantiomers after optimization. The most noticeable interactions include hy...

Theoretical Studies of Solvent Effects on the Electronic Properties of 1, 3-Bis [(Furan-2-yl) Methylene] Urea and Thiourea

The synthesis and characterization of 1, 3-bis [(furan-2-yl) methylene] urea (BFMU) and 1, 3-bis [furan-2-yl) methylene] thiourea (BFMT) have been reported by our research team. The effects of solvents polarity on their electronic transition energies (HOMO-LUMO) and associated qualitative structure activity relationship parameters (i.e. log P, ionization energies and global hardness) were inves...

The effect of solvent choice on the gelation and final hydrogel properties of Fmoc-diphenylalanine.

Gels can be formed by dissolving Fmoc-diphenylalanine (Fmoc-PhePhe or FmocFF) in an organic solvent and adding water. We show here that the choice and amount of organic solvent allows the rheological properties of the gel to be tuned. The differences in properties arise from the microstructure of the fibre network formed. The organic solvent can then be removed post-gelation, without significan...
